| We started manufacturing Baker Perkins Pusher Centrifuges in the 1930s and
customers have seen our design and performance parameters change dramatically in the 60
years since. For relentlessly productive separation of coarse solids from free-draining
crystalline slurries and gentle single-stage handling, the B&P Pusher Centrifuge
remains the standard. |
 |
| The B&P Pusher Centrifuge is used in a myriad of applications all over the globe.
From traditional separation processes to specialized operations. Salt from dilute caustic
in chlor-alkali plants. Military-grade nitrocellulose separation. Dilute acid cottonseed
delinting. Soda ash processing. Heavy metals recovery. Paraxylene processing. And on. And
on. Briefly, here's how a B&P Pusher Centrifuge operates:
- Feed slurry is deposited on a wedge slot filtration screen.
- Solids collect on the screen and feed liquors drain through.
- The pusher plate rotates with the basket and reciprocates.
- On the forward stroke, the plate pushes solids along the screen, consolidating the
solids into a uniform cake. On the reverse stroke, fresh screen is exposed where more
slurry is deposited.
- Cake dries as it moves along the length of the screen and wash liquor may be applied to
remove impurities.
- Cake is pushed off the discharge end of the screen and directed to the collection chute
for downstream processing.

We'll Turn Any Recipe into Thicker, More Pure Cake
B&P Pusher Centrifuges yield a thicker, more pure cake for a variety of
applications. Thicker cake is a factor of basket length. The longer the basket, the
thicker the cake. And the B&P Pusher Centrifuge has a very long basket. A thicker cake
is more pure than a thinner cake because impurities typically tend to collect near the
screen surface. The impurities layer represents less of the total cake volume in a thicker
cake than in a thinner one, having less effect on average purity.
Don't Stop When You're on a Roll
Our rugged and dependable centrifuges are continuously operated - 24 hours a day for
extended periods - maintaining production levels unmatched by other technologies.
Depending on process variables, the B&P Pusher Centrifuge regularly produces thousands
of pounds of cake per horsepower hour.
The Fastest Way to Centrifuge Efficiently is Slow Motion
B&P can show you how to get more out of your centrifuge operations by slowing
things down. More production. More uptime. Longer machine life. Lower operating costs. And
a higher-quality product. Even with lower speeds, production stays high. Lower rotation
speeds lengthen component life and reduce machine failure, downtime, repair costs and
machine replacement expense.
