The Ko-Kneader, a low-shear rotating and reciprocating single-screw
extruder is designed for shear and temperature sensitive compounds. The flights on the
screw are interrupted and interact with three rows of stationary kneading pins located in
the barrel wall. The interaction between the moving flights and the stationary pins
provide dispersive and distributive mixing simultaneously.
B&P acquired the Ko-Kneader license from Mr.
List the inventor of the Ko-Kneader principle back in 1951. Since then,
B&P has installed hundreds of Ko-Kneaders throughout the world. The design of the new
CK-Series incorporates optimized process and production solutions for the following
applications:
- Powder Coatings and Toner
- PVC Compounding
- PVC Calander
- Wire & Cable Insulation
- Engineered Thermoplastics
- Masterbatch / Concentrates
- Adhesives / Silicones
- Food
The following sizes are available: 30, 45, 60, 80, 110, 150, 220 and 300 mm, with
process lengths of 8, 12, 16 and 20 L/D.
The new process and production optimized CK-Series offers the following cost effective
features:
- 100% metric design
- Standard electrically heated barrels (liquid heating optional)
- Water-cooled barrels
- Liquid tempered screw
- Modular barrel design from 8D to 20D
- Power feeders and/or twin-screw side feeders
- Dynamic vent port design for high vacuum applications
- Enhanced feeding section for high volume feed
- Compact high performance gearbox
- Screw speeds up to 750rpm
- Innovative downstream solutions
